- work Description: The source texts are translations of Directive 2002/74/EC from the Acquis Communautaire (AC), the total body of European Union (EU) law applicable in the the EU Member States. The full name of the directive is "Directive 2002/74/EC of the European Parliament and of the Council of 23 September 2002 amending Council Directive 80/987/EEC on the approximation of the laws of the Member States relating to the protection of employees in the event of the insolvency of their employer", with CELEX code (unique identifier) 32002L0074. The directive was originally published in the Official Journal of the European Union. It belongs to the public domain, and is available in all EU languages at the EUR-LEX webpages (http://eur-lex.europa.eu). The versions in the non-EU languages Icelandic and Norwegian were translated by the Norwegian Ministry of Foreign Affairs and the Icelandic Ministry for Foreign Affairs and the source texts have kindly been made available by the respective governments.
